The Battle of Mentana, also known as the Battle of Rome, took place on November 3, 1867, in Italy. This historic event marked a significant turning point in the Italian Unification process, as the Papal forces, with the assistance of the French army, managed to defeat the Italian revolutionary leader Giuseppe Garibaldi and his Redshirts.
