The Battle of Lobositz, October 1, 1756: A Turning Point in the Seven Years' War This evocative print depicts the decisive moment of the Battle of Lobositz, a pivotal engagement in the Seven Years' War (1756-1763). In this clash between Prussia's King Frederick II, known as Frederick the Great, and the combined Austrian and Saxon forces, the Prussian army emerged victorious, marking a significant turning point in the conflict. Frederick the Great, a brilliant military strategist, had led his troops to a strategic position on a hill overlooking the town of Lobositz in modern-day Czech Republic. The Austrian and Saxon forces, under the command of General Daun and Prince Charles of Lorraine, approached with determination.
