After the female has spawned and the male's milt has been released to fertilise the eggs, he will use his mouth to place eggs in the bubble nest where they will spend 24 to 36 hours in incubation, cared for by him. The female is likely to eat eggs that she is able to scoop up. Origin: Mekong Basin, Southeast Asia.
