Pylons of Princes Pier
Pylons of Princes Pier. Princes Pier was constructed between 1912 and 1915 to complement the neighbouring Station Pier and until 1969 was the arrival point for many new migrants. Destroyed by a series of fires in the 1990s and 2000s, the pier is currently under restoration and the pylons have been preserved and serve as a marker for the historic site. Gosse Bluff
Gosse Bluff, a meteorite crater created by a massive cosmic impact about 130 million years ago. The ramparts 250 m high and inner crater 4 km wide represents the base of a rebound splash that formed far below the vaporisation chamber and remained frozen in the subterranean strata until it was gradually revealed by erosion.
