The Nicobar Pigeon is one of the most beautiful of the many species of pigeons or doves and is the only living member of the genus Caloenus. It is found in the Islands of Nicobar, south west peninsular Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Solomans and palau. Once known to be found in abundance in its range, their numbers in the wild are declining as they are frequently captured for pet trade and hunted for food

Policemen struggle to hold back the surging tide of demonstrators pressing on the approach to the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square, London. Despite heroic efforts, the line gave and the mob broke through into the Square but were turned back from the Embassy. The crowd had marched on the building after an anti-Vietnam war rally in Trafalgar Square. Some of the demonstrators are wearing white paper headbands - the traditional Vietnamese sign of mourning.
