The 360 steps leading up to the Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's, situated at the foot of the second peak of Mount Zijin in Nanjing, People's Republic of China. Construction of the tomb started in January 1926 and was finished by spring 1929. Date: circa 1930

Hankou, China - The HMS Gnat in harbour

Hankou (one of the three cities whose merging formed modern-day Wuhan), China - The HMS Gnat (T60) (a Royal Navy Insect class gunboat) in harbour. In 1927 the Gnat participated as part of a Royal Navy flotilla in the Nanjing incident, helping to protect British and other international citizens and business interests in China. Also participated in both WW1 and WW2. Date: 1920
