Rex Whistler Collection

Rex Whistler was a British artist, designer, and illustrator who lived from 1905 to 1944. He was known for his murals, paintings, and illustrations. His most famous work is the Tate Gallery mural in London which he completed in 1927. He also designed sets for the Royal Opera House and Covent Garden. His style was influenced by French Rococo art as well as English Romanticism. He created many portraits of friends and family members throughout his career, including a series of portraits of the Mitford sisters.
