George Ropes Collection

George Ropes is an artist, curator, and educator based in Boston. He has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. His artwork is a combination of painting, drawing, sculpture, video installation and performance art. He often uses found objects to create his pieces which explore themes such as identity and memory. As a curator he has organized exhibitions at various institutions including The Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston and The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University. As an educator he has taught classes at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design as well as other universities throughout the United States. George Ropes' artwork provides viewers with an opportunity to explore their own identities through his unique perspectives on life.
