Ambrose McEvoy Collection

Ambrose McEvoy was a British painter and illustrator who lived from 1878 to 1927. He is best known for his portraits of society figures, as well as his illustrations for books and magazines. His style was influenced by the French Impressionists, particularly Monet and Degas. He also had an interest in the Pre-Raphaelite movement, which he explored in some of his later works. McEvoy was a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1899 onwards.
