Ebenezer Landells Collection

Ebenezer Landells (1808-1860) was an English engraver, lithographer and publisher who founded the influential children's magazine, The Little Folks. He was born in London and apprenticed to a copperplate engraver at the age of 14. He later worked as an illustrator for several magazines before launching The Little Folks in 1866. It featured stories, poems and illustrations by some of the most famous authors and artists of the time such as Charles Dickens, George Cruikshank and John Tenniel.
