Elisabeth Maria Anna Jerichau-Baumann (1819-1881) was a Danish painter and sculptor who is best known for her portraits and genre scenes. She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, to a family of artists. She studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1835 to 1843, where she won several awards for her work.
