Samuel Bourne Collection

Samuel Bourne (1834-1912) was an English photographer who is best known for his photographs of India in the late 19th century. He began his career as a banker in London, but soon left to pursue photography full time. He traveled extensively throughout India, capturing its people and landscapes with his camera.
