Benedict Arnold Collection

Benedict Arnold was an American Revolutionary War hero who later became a traitor to the cause. He was born in Norwich, Connecticut and served in the Continental Army during the war. He is best known for his daring exploits, including leading a successful raid on Fort Ticonderoga and commanding troops at the Battle of Saratoga. However, Arnold eventually switched sides and joined forces with the British in 1780. His treasonous actions were discovered by American forces and he fled to England where he died in 1801. Arnold's legacy has been tarnished by his betrayal, but his military achievements are still remembered as some of the most heroic acts of bravery during the Revolutionary War.
