EDITORS COMMENTS
In this poignant moment at Emirates Stadium on April 29,2007, Denilson and Juhan Djourou of Arsenal Football Club join their teammates, coaches, and fans in paying tribute to Alan Ball and Arthur Milton during a minute's applause. The occasion was a Barclays Premiership match against Fulham, and the mood was somber as the football community came together to remember two of its beloved figures. Alan Ball, a former Arsenal player and manager, had passed away earlier that week at the age of 61, following a long battle with cancer. Ball, who spent eight years as a player at Arsenal between 1961 and 1969, made over 200 appearances for the club and helped them win the league title in 1968-69. He later returned to manage Arsenal from 1974 to 1976. Arthur Milton, a long-serving Arsenal employee, had also recently passed away. Milton, who had worked at the club for over 50 years, was a much-loved figure in the Arsenal community. He had started working at Highbury in 1956, initially as a groundsman and later becoming the head groundsman in 1973. Milton was known for his dedication and commitment to the club, and his passing was deeply felt by all associated with Arsenal. Denilson and Juhan Djourou, both young players at the time, were among the many Arsenal players who showed their respects to Ball and Milton during the minute's applause. The image captures the solemnity of the moment, with the players and fans united in their appreciation for the contributions of two men who had given so much to Arsenal Football Club.
