In this photograph taken by Stuart MacFarlane during the FA Cup Third Round match between West Ham United and Arsenal at Upton Park on January 3, 2010, Thomas Vermaelen of Arsenal triumphantly holds aloft the FA Cup after securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over their London rivals. The Boleyn Ground, the historic home of West Ham United, played host to an electric atmosphere as both teams battled it out in the prestigious FA Cup competition. Vermaelen, a Belgian international defender who had only joined Arsenal the previous summer, had been an integral part of Arsene Wenger's squad during the 2009-10 season.
