QUIS SEPARABIT? Irish Guards together again for St Patricks Day Parade

Pictured is the Irish Guards mascot, Domhnall at a St Patricks Day Parade in London.
Domhnall is the Irish Guards 16th Regimental Mascot.
The mascots are provided by The Irish Wolfhound Club, who presented the Irish Guards with Domhnall, at the Ambassadors Residence in Dublin in October 2012.
His full name is Domhnall of Shantamon, but he is known as Domhnall (pronounced Donal) which means world leader in Gaelic.
The regimental mascot is traditionally named after an Irish chieftan. The regiment has had an Irish Wolfhound as a mascot since 1902.
Domhnall is 4 years old and wears his own solid silver collar and scarlet tunic for official duties. He also has developed a fondness for Guinness

QUIS SEPARABIT? Irish Guards Reunite for St Patrick's Day Parade

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this heartwarming photo print, the spirit of camaraderie and tradition comes alive as the Irish Guards gather once again to celebrate St Patrick's Day. At the forefront of this scene stands Domhnall, the beloved mascot of the 1st Battalion, The Guards Division. Domhnall, a majestic Irish Wolfhound, proudly dons his scarlet tunic and a solid silver collar specially crafted for him. As he confidently leads the way through the streets of London during this festive parade, his presence embodies strength and loyalty. Presented to the regiment by The Irish Wolfhound Club in Dublin back in October 2012, Domhnall holds a special place within their ranks. His full name is Domhnall of Shantamon; however, he is affectionately known as Domhnall (pronounced Donal), which means "world leader" in Gaelic. Continuing a long-standing tradition dating back to 1902, each regimental mascot bears an honorary title inspired by an esteemed Irish chieftain. With his regal stature and dignified demeanor, Domhnall carries on this legacy with grace. Beyond his official duties as a symbol of pride for the Irish Guards, it seems that our four-legged friend has also developed quite an affinity for Guinness – perhaps embracing another cherished aspect of Ireland's rich heritage. As we admire this remarkable photograph capturing unity and
