British Columbia Canada.
Ursus americanus kermode
Also known as Spirit or Ghost bear, the Kermode bear is a sub species of the American black bear and was named in the early 1900s after Frances Kermode. The result of a recessive gene in both parents, the bear is not an albino or polar bear. Found only in British Columbia, Canada, there are probably only 50-80 in existence, living mainly in the forests of Princess Royal Island.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Behold the majestic Kermode Bear, also known as the Spirit or Ghost bear! This rare and enchanting creature is like no other. With its pure white fur glistening against the lush green forests of British Columbia, it's a sight that will leave you in awe. Named after Frances Kermode, this sub-species of the American black bear is not an albino or polar bear but rather a result of a recessive gene. Only 50-80 of these magnificent bears exist today, making them one of nature's most precious treasures. Caught on camera by Tom & Pat Leeson, this stunning print captures the essence of this elusive creature. The Kermode Bear stands proudly on its hind legs, showcasing its strength and grace. Its piercing eyes seem to hold ancient wisdom as it gazes into the distance. Living mainly in Princess Royal Island's dense forests, these bears are true masters of camouflage. Their white coat allows them to blend seamlessly with their surroundings – a ghostly apparition moving silently through nature's tapestry. This print serves as a reminder that we must cherish and protect our wildlife. Let it transport you to the untamed beauty of Canada's wilderness and inspire you to preserve our planet for future generations.
