British Columbia Canada.
Ursus americanus kermore
Also known as Spirit or Ghost bear, the Kermode bear is a sub species of the American black bear, named in the early 1900s after Frances Kermode. The result of a recessive gene in both parents, the bear is not an albino or polar bear. Found only in British Columbia, Canada, there are probably only 50-80 in existence, living mainly in the forests of Princess Royal Island.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Behold the majestic Kermode Bear, a true marvel of nature! With its stunning white coat and enigmatic presence, this Spirit Bear is like no other. Don't be fooled by its ethereal appearance though, for it's still a top-notch predator in the wild! Named after Frances Kermode, this sub-species of American black bear has captured our hearts with its unique genetic makeup. Not an albino or polar bear, the Kermode Bear boasts a recessive gene that gives it this extraordinary coloration. Living exclusively in British Columbia's enchanting forests, these bears are incredibly rare. In fact, there may only be 50-80 left in existence! Princess Royal Island serves as their sanctuary amidst lush greenery and cascading waterfalls. This breathtaking print by Tom & Pat Leeson perfectly captures the essence of this elusive creature. The contrast between the pure white fur and rugged rocks creates an awe-inspiring scene that transports you to Canada's wilderness.
