Burrows often found at bases of bushes may be 3 to 30 feet long and may be occupied by one to many individuals. Short tunnels afford temporary shelter and long ones called dens used for estivation and hibernation. Eats herb, grasses or cactii. Found from southern Nevada south into Mexico and southwest Arizona west to Mojave Desert
