Twice a year, the sunset in Manhattan aligns perfectly with the East/West avenues. This July, about 100 photographers crowded a tiny overpass to capture the event. This picture was taken from Tudor City Place, looking west down 42nd Street past the Chrysler Building on the right, Grand Central Station further down, and Times Square waaaay at the end. Stopped down a bit to get the starburst look and a bit wider to include the trees

The village centres a medieval church that is Grade I listed, with timber frame architecture from the Tudor period and a punishment cage, last used in 1882 to hold a poacher. Model of Pembroke College Chapel CC72_00096

A model of the 17th century Chapel at Pembroke College, University Of Cambridge, Trumpington Street, Cambridge. This image is printed in the RCHME Inventory Volume: City of Cambridge, Part One. The model was discovered in 1923 in the organ-gallery and is believed to be contemporary with the 17th century chapel. It is made of pinewood and had a removeable roof cover, which is now lost. Photographed in 1954
