Killing a rat snake for consumption at a speciality snake restaurant

Killing a rat snake for consumption at a speciality snake restaurant. Snake restaurants are clustered around the Le Mat district on the outskirts of Hanoi. It is illegal to serve wild caught snakes and most claim the snakes are farmed. In practice most are wild caught and kept captive for a short period before consumption. Venomous snakes are reputed to have more health giving properties but most snakes served up are harmless rat snakes while cobras are kept for display. Hanoi, Vietnam
