Roman Mole Collection

Roman mole is a small mammal found in Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia, and is a member of the Talpidae family and has a wide range of habitats including grasslands, forests, and even urban areas. The Roman mole has short fur that ranges from dark brown to black in color. Its body is stout and its tail is short with an average length of about 3-4 inches and has small eyes and ears which are covered by its fur. Its diet consists mainly of earthworms, insects, snails, slugs, spiders and other invertebrates which it digs up from the soil using its powerful claws. They are dig up to two feet deep into the ground in search for food or shelter during winter months when food sources become scarce, and are solitary animals but will form colonies during breeding season when they mate with one another to produce litters of 2-5 young moles each year.
