White Rhinoceros Collection

The white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) is a large mammal belonging to the Rhinocerotidae family, and is one of the five species of rhinoceros and is native to Africa. The white rhino has two subspecies, the southern white rhino and the northern white rhino, and is distinguished from other species by its wide, square-shaped lip that it uses for grazing on grasses. White rhinos are social animals that live in small herds of up to 14 individuals, led by a dominant male, and are herbivores and can weigh up to 4,500 kgs when fully grown. White Rhinos have few natural predators due to their size and thick skin but they are still threatened by poaching for their horns which are used in traditional medicines in some parts of Asia.
