Black Rhinoceros Collection

The Black Rhinoceros (Rhinocerotidae) is a species of large mammal native to Africa and the Middle East, and is one of the five extant species of rhinoceros, and one of two in the genus Diceros. The black rhino has a thick, hairless skin which ranges in color from grey-brown to almost black and has two horns on its snout, which can grow up to 60 cm long. Its diet consists mainly of leafy plants and some fruits, although it will also eat grasses and other vegetation when available. The black rhino is an endangered species due to poaching for its horns and habitat loss caused by human encroachment on its natural range. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this iconic animal from extinction.
