Mountain Zebra Collection

Mountain Zebras are a species of Equidae mammals native to South Africa, and are the only surviving members of the subgenus Hippotigris, and their scientific name is Equus zebra zebra. Mountain Zebras have a unique coat pattern with thick stripes running from the shoulder to the hindquarters, and they also have distinctive white bellies and legs, and are relatively small animals, reaching up to 1.5 meters in length and weighing around 300 kilograms. Mountain Zebras live in small herds of up to 20 individuals on rocky hillsides or in open grasslands where they feed on grasses, shrubs, leaves, bark and fruits, and are highly social animals that communicate through vocalizations such as snorts and whinnies as well as visual signals like head bobbing or tail swishing, and are currently listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN Red List due to habitat loss from human activities such as agriculture expansion or overgrazing by livestock. Conservation efforts include protecting their habitats through national parks or reserves, reintroducing them into areas where they were once found but now extinct, and captive breeding programs for reintroduction into wild populations when necessary.
