The Eastern Gray Kangaroo lives in open grasslands or woodlands, where it feeds mainly on grasses and herbs, and is an agile animal that can leap over 6 meters in a single bound. During the day they rest in shady areas or near water sources, while at night they come out to feed, and are social animals that live together in groups called mobs which can contain up to 50 individuals. The Eastern Gray Kangaroo plays an important role as a keystone species within its ecosystem by helping maintain vegetation structure through grazing activities.
