Pronghorn Collection

Pronghorn (Antilocapridae) are a species of mammals found in western North America, and are the only surviving members of their family, and are the fastest land animals in North America. Pronghorns have a unique physical appearance, with long horns that curve backward from their heads and a white rump patch and can reach speeds up to 55 mph while running, making them one of the fastest animals on earth. Pronghorns have excellent eyesight and hearing, which helps them detect predators from far away. Their diet consists mainly of grasses and shrubs, but they also eat some insects and fruits when available. Pronghorns live in small herds which migrate seasonally between summer and winter ranges to find food sources throughout the year, and are an important part of many ecosystems as they help maintain vegetation by grazing on grasses and shrubs, providing food for other species such as coyotes or birds of prey.
