Red Panda Collection

Red pandas are mammals of the Ailuridae family, native to the Himalayas and parts of China. They have a distinctive reddish-brown fur, with white markings on their faces and tails, and are about the size of a housecat, weighing between 6-14 pounds and measuring up to 20 inches in length. They have long bushy tails that can measure up to 12 inches in length, and are mainly solitary animals that spend most of their time in trees, eating bamboo shoots and leaves as well as small rodents, birds, eggs, flowers and fruits. They live in high altitudes between 4500-15000 feet above sea level where they build nests out of sticks or hollow trees for shelter, and are an endangered species due to habitat loss caused by deforestation as well as poaching for their fur. Conservation efforts such as habitat protection and captive breeding programs have been put into place in order to help protect this species from extinction.
