Temminck's Tragopan (Phasianidae) is a species of pheasant native to the Himalayas and parts of China, and is a medium-sized bird, with males reaching up to 70 cm in length and females up to 55 cm. The male has a bright orange-red body, white throat patch, black face mask, and blue wattles on the sides of its head. The female is more drab in coloration with brownish-gray upperparts and whitish underparts, and are omnivorous birds that feed mainly on fruits, seeds, buds, leaves, insects and small invertebrates. They prefer dense forests for breeding but can also be found in open areas near water sources or grasslands during winter months.
