Miss Hannah Locke of Philadelphia, the daughter of Mrs Robert W Locke, who is among the American girls to be presented at Court by Mrs Ray Atherton, wife of the American Charge d Affaires. She is photographed in her gown before leaving to attend the first Court presentation at which she made her bow to the Queen. The King was unable to be present on account of rheumatism.
Miss Lockes gown was of white lace trimmed with a dull blue taffeta belt and shoulder straps, worn with a train of white lace. Her bouquet was of white orchids and lilies of the valley.
