Alphonse Daudet (1840-1897): A Prolific Writer and Master Storyteller of Provence This photograph captures the enigmatic and charismatic figure of Alphonse Daudet, a renowned French writer of the late 19th century. Born in 1840 in Sete, a picturesque port town in the south of France, Daudet's works would later immortalize the region and its people.
