Futuristic architecture in the City of London - the Lloyds Building

London, England - 30 March 2012
The Lloyd's building - sometimes known as the Inside-Out Building - is the home of the insurance institution Lloyd's of London. It is located in Lime Street, in London's main financial district, the City of London. The building is a leading example of radical Bowellism architecture, in which the services for the building, such as ducts and lifts, are located on the exterior to maximise space in the interior.

A coot sits in a tyre along the Regents Canal in London

A coot sits in a tyre along the Regent's Canal in London March 20, 2012. The nine-mile (14.5-kilometre) Regent's Canal is one of the capital's best-kept secrets. Largely hidden behind buildings, the line sneaks its way through a rich collage of urban landscapes. Starting at the houseboats of Little Venice, it wends its way through Camden Lock and fashionable East London, and bypasses the site of the London 2012 Olympic Games before ending in Limehouse Basin.
