Lt Michael Parker, R.N

John Michael Avison Parker, Equerry-in-Waiting to Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, and later Private Secretary to the Duke (Prince Philip) until 1957 when an affair led to his resignation. He remained good friends with the Duke although was always regarded with suspicion by members of the old Guard at Court. Pictured with his first wife, Eileen and children, Michael and Julie. Born in Melbourne, Australia, he was the son of a captain in the Royal Australian Navy and served with the Duke in the North Sea and S.E.A.C during World War II. Date: 1951
