Red handfish

Red handfish (Brachionichthys politus) on the sea floor. This fish is found in shallow reef habitats off the coast of Tasmania and in limited areas of the south-west Pacific. It moves along the bottom by "walking" on its hand-like pectoral fins (red, lower centre). Photographed off south-east Tasmania
