Almondbury Scouts and Cubs are in a winning mood. Members of 37th Almondbury Methodist Scouts followed grid references and clues on a 13-mile walk from Blackmoorfoot to Lepton to beat three other teams from the South East District. Pictured are Woodland Way winners (back left) Huw Edwards, Robert Farnell, Mark Robinson, Matthew Brooke, Ben Ingram and holding the shield Matthew Ingram (front right). In front are the 37th Almondbury Methodist Cubs who won a six-a-side South East District football competition at Huddersfield Sports Centre. The competition was organised by assistant district commissioner for Cubs Peter Newsome. Hundred of Rover workers were treated to a free night out in Coventry to celebrate Featured 1 May 1990 Print

Hundred of Rover workers were treated to a free night out in Coventry to celebrate

Hundred of Rover workers were treated to a free night out in Coventry to celebrate the launch of the brand new model today. Their families went too, as bosses said a big "thankyou" to staff who have laboured long and hard on the new car. A theatre at the city's Odeon cinema was booked for two screening of a top new comedy film Look who's Talking, last night. And the guests also got to see what all the fuss is about. They watched the big-screen version of a new multi-million pound TV ad for the new Metro car. The queue of Rover workers waiting ouside the Odeon wound round a hundred yards into Whitefriars Street last night as shown in our photograph.
