EDITORS COMMENTS
This intriguing photograph captures the method used by spiritualist investigator Harry Price during his investigations into the mediumistic abilities of the Austrian brothers Rudi and Willi Schneider. The image, undated but believed to be from the early 1930s, shows the brothers seated with their hands and feet linked together by means of an electrical control device. The apparatus, consisting of a basket, wires, and various other components, is designed to facilitate the transfer of energy between the siblings and supposedly enable them to enter a trance state and make contact with the spirit world. Price, a renowned paranormal researcher, was known for his rigorous and scientific approach to investigating mediums and their supposed supernatural abilities. In the case of the Schneider brothers, he employed a range of tests and experiments to determine the authenticity of their mediumship. The linking of hands and feet was just one of several techniques used during these investigations. The photograph offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of spiritualism and the belief in the existence of the spirit world. However, it also raises questions about the validity of the brothers' abilities and the authenticity of their mediumship. Were they genuine spiritualists, or were they engaging in fraudulent practices? Price's investigations, and the evidence he gathered, would ultimately help shed light on this mystery. This photograph is a valuable historical record of an intriguing chapter in the history of paranormal investigation. It serves as a reminder of the enduring human fascination with the unknown and the search for evidence of life after death.
