Tunnel construction, St. Johns Wood, London

Tunnel construction, St. Johns Wood, London

Construction of the three tunnels at St. Johns Wood Road, London, circa 1897. Note the steam crane to the left of the photograph: the wooden cab complete with a window is a particularly tidy and well built example of this contractor's modification. This section of the Line (Contract No.7, London) was constructed by J.T. Firbank of London Bridge.. Stunning Photo Gifts From Leicestershire County Council Print Store
