Permanent way with plate girder overbridge

This picture shows the area of line under construction in record L3368. Here the widening operation is complete: contractor's railways have been replaced with a permanent way consisting of two tracks, packed with gravel ballast and secured with steel clamps. Cutting back of the embankment to the right would provide potential for an additional track. The long overbridge is constructed using girders, and has plate parapets..
