Lung cancer, X-ray

Lung cancer. Coloured X-ray of the left lungof a patient with lung cancer. There is amalignant (cancerous) tumour (orange and purple)at the hilum of the lung (green). A hilum is anarea through which blood vessels, nerves and ductsenter and leave an organ. This is an early stageof lung cancer, the main cause of which iscigarette smoking.
