Girder overbridge and track laying

Girder overbridge carrying the Stratford & Midland Joint Railway over the London Extension at Woodford, Northamptonshire, circa 1897. Although the contractor's temporary rails on the right of the photograph have been partially dismantled, it is easy to see the difference in quality between these and the short length of permanent way in the foreground.
