French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his new wife Carla Bruni arrived at London's Heathrow airport today (26 Mar) to start a two-day state visit. The couple were met by the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall before travelling to Windsor to be received by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. The couple will attend a glittering state banquet at Windsor Castle. Mr Sarkozy is also set to address both Houses of Parliament and meet Gordon Brown at Westminster, where they are expected to cover issues ranging from global finance to Afghanistan. The two leaders are also thought to be unveiling new co-operation on illegal immigration and nuclear energy
