One of London's traditional Routemaster buses pass across Westminster Bridge Tuesday December 6, 2005, ahead of their withdrawal later this week. The buses, which have both a driver and a conductor to collect fares, were first introduced to the capital in the 1950s, and are popular with Londoners who can hop and off the open platform at the back. They have been gradually replaced over recent years with vehicles which permit greater access for the disabled. The last regular bus will run on Friday from Oxford Street to Brixton Bus Garage: after then they will only be seen on heritage routes. PRESS ASSOCIATION Photo.
