Girder bridge and embankment near Whetstone

This girder underbridge was built by Topham, Jones & Railton as part of Contract No.3 to carry the London Extension across a farm track near Whetstone, Leicestershire. The structure may be completed, but this muddy and uneven embankment shows that there was still much to do before any main line traffic passed this way.
