This is a fine view of High Wycombe Station, photographed around 1903 during its conversion for use on the Great Western & Great Central Joint Line. The existing Great Western station was substantially rebuilt as part of the Joint Railway scheme, a project that provided the Great Central with a faster route into London. Here, the iron work for the station canopy is almost complete, although the Great Western's former broad gauge track has yet to be replaced with the new permanent way.
