Leonhard Fuchs, German botanist and physician.Leonhard Fuchs, German botanist and physician. Fuchs (1501-1556) botanical work "Historia Stirpium", published in 1542 is regarded as a landmark in the development of the study and classification of natural history. The Fuchsia is named after him.
