Premature baby

Premature baby. Hand of a premature baby lit by ultrared light. This light is use to find the baby's veins, which are very small, to allow drugs and fluids to be administered intravenously. Babies born before 37 weeks of development require constant monitoring in a contained environment. Their immune system and internal organs are under-developed and they have difficulty maintaining a constant body temperature.
