This evocative photograph captures a moment of respite for the Officers of the 1st Battalion Connaught Rangers during their march from Nazareth in late 1918. Having left Nazareth on November 17, after being stationed there since September, these British military men are seen enjoying a lunch break amidst the ruins of the Holy Land.
