Vistors to the Park were unaware of the Royal Children who were enjoying a little freedom. They were escorted from a distance by one royal bodyguard
The image was taken by Mirror photographer Arthur Sidey who had been tipped off about the stroll in the park. Arthur not knowing which route the Royal children would take asked two of his colleagues Dixie Dean and Bob Hope to cover two other possible routes across the Park. Arthur stuck lucky and got these exclusive shots of the Little Prince and Princess.

Capturing a Glimpse of Royalty - Princess Anne and Prince Charles Explore Green Park
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this photo print, taken by Mirror photographer Arthur Sidey in November 1954, we are transported back to the innocence of childhood as Princess Anne (4) and Prince Charles (6) take a leisurely stroll through London's picturesque Green Park. Accompanied by their governess, the young royals were returning to Buckingham Palace after visiting their beloved Queen Mother at Clarence House. Unbeknownst to the visitors enjoying the park that day, these little members of royalty were relishing in a rare moment of freedom. From a distance, one royal bodyguard kept watch over them, ensuring their safety while allowing them to explore with carefree abandon. Arthur Sidey had been tipped off about this delightful escapade and seized the opportunity to capture exclusive shots of the Little Prince and Princess. Not knowing which route they would take across the park, he enlisted his colleagues Dixie Dean and Bob Hope to cover other potential paths. Fortunately for Arthur, luck was on his side as he managed to snap these precious images. This photograph encapsulates both the charm of childhood and the unique world of royalty. It serves as a reminder that even those born into privilege can find joy in simple pleasures like taking walks through beautiful parks. The image transports us back in time to witness an intimate moment within British history - an enchanting glimpse into Princess Anne's and Prince Charles' early years.
