Mayo composite aircraft nears completion at Rochester, first pictures.
The new Mayo composite aircraft, design for ultra long-distance commercial travel, is nearing completion at Rochester and trials will take place soon.
The aircraft consists of two units. One is a four engined seaplane to be heavily loaded with freight mail and fuel, the other is a lightly loaded flying boat similar, except in details, to the Empire flying boat.
The seaplane is placed on top of the flying boat and to take off together. After the takeoff, the two separate, and the flying boat returns to its base.
