Tennis champion Anthony Wilding & C. T. Craig

Captain Anthony Frederick Wilding (1883-1915), New Zealand born tennis player and four-times Wimbledon champion 1910-1913, pictured with Mr C. T. Craig, managing director of the firm Messrs. Henderson, Craig & Company Ltd, a wood-pulps merchants in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. Mr Craig was the father of one of Wildings Cambridge friends and Wilding started at the company in July 1911, immediately after he had won the Wimbledon championship for a second time. His job was full-time and based in Manchester and despite spending very little time playing tennis, he nevertheless won the championship again in 1912 and then again in 1913. Date: c.1911
